New opportunities and legal guarantees for entrepreneurs
In cooperation with the Business Ombudsman, a roundtable discussion titled "New Opportunities and Legal Guarantees for Entrepreneurs" was held at Tashkent State University of Law. This event was part of the implementation of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to implement the tasks defined in the VI Open Dialogue with Entrepreneurs," dated August 27, 2023.
Botir Usmonaliyev, an official from the Business Ombudsman's office, participated in a roundtable discussion focused on implementing the tasks set during the 6th Open Dialogue between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and entrepreneurs. He spoke on the essence and significance of the initiatives put forward during the dialogue, new mechanisms for supporting entrepreneurial activity, guarantees for protecting the rights and legal interests of business entities, and the future of state policy in this area.
Furthermore, the event provided explanations on the significant reliefs aimed at reducing administrative pressure and providing financial support for entrepreneurs.
As noted, a 3-year moratorium has been introduced, imposing a 3-year ban (moratorium) on any inspections of small business entities. Conducting an inspection during this period is considered completely illegal.
If an entrepreneur makes a mistake for the first time and it does not pose a threat to life, they will not be fined. A 10-day period will be granted to correct the shortcoming.
Additionally, the amount of all financial and administrative penalties applied to businesses will be reduced by an average of half.
The event highlighted that the President's 6th Open Dialogue with entrepreneurs and the subsequent decree marked a historic turning point aimed at fundamentally transforming the business environment in Uzbekistan.
