Entrepreneurs from Syrdarya region and Afghanistan meet in Gulistan
The Syrdarya – Afghanistan Investment Business Forum was held in Gulistan, bringing together representatives of the business communities of the two countries.
The forum was attended by more than 110 entrepreneurs from Afghanistan and over 200 business representatives from Syrdarya region.
During B2B meetings, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in industry, agriculture, the production of construction materials, logistics, export and import activities, and other promising areas.
Opening the forum, the Hokim of the region, Mr. Turdimov, noted that the centuries-old traditions of good-neighborliness and fraternal relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan today provide a solid foundation for the development of economic cooperation.
The forum was also attended by Sayed Karim Hashimi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment. He praised the reforms underway in Uzbekistan, particularly in Syrdarya region, to support entrepreneurship, develop industry and agriculture, and improve the investment climate. According to him, the establishment of joint ventures, the exchange of modern technologies, and the expansion of trade relations are creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
During the B2B negotiations, the participants discussed implementing joint investment projects, increasing mutual trade volumes, developing logistics infrastructure, organizing joint exports to third-country markets, and establishing direct partnerships between entrepreneurs.
The forum also featured a presentation of industrial and agricultural products manufactured in Syrdarya region, the region’s export potential, and promising investment projects.
