Cooperation with Türkiye in traditional handicrafts

The Uzbekistan delegation, led by the Hunarmand Association Chairman, is currently on a working visit to Türkiye.

Issues of cooperation in developing culture, national crafts, and traditional professions, as well as the exchange of experience and the implementation of mutually beneficial projects, were discussed with Dr. Serkan Emir Erkmen, the Cultural Events Deputy General Director at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye. It was emphasized that traditional handicrafts are an important part of the historical memory of peoples, national values, and the rich cultural heritage passed down through generations.

The delegation members visited the Ankara Olgunlaşma Institute and inspected a workshop that weaves traditional clean cloth. The guests also visited the institute’s museum to explore exhibits on national crafts and cultural heritage.

The meetings and visits emphasized the significance of safeguarding traditional craft secrets, ensuring they are passed down to future generations and that experiences are shared.
