Cooperation in healthcare develops
During a visit to Austria by the Uzbekistan delegation led by Abdumannop Abduqayumov, Director of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Pediatrics, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Medical University of Vienna, one of Europe’s leading universities.
According to the Ministry of Health, the parties will cooperate on the training and advanced training of medical personnel.
In particular, internship programs for Uzbek doctors will be organized in Vienna. A visit by Austrian specialists to Tashkent is also planned.
The memorandum provides for the introduction of European diagnostic and treatment protocols and standards in Uzbekistan.
As part of the visit, discussions were held with representatives of MED-EL, a company specializing in hearing implants. An agreement was reached to transfer modern surgical equipment to the Center for cochlear implantation procedures.
