American bloggers become familiar with Namangan region’s handicraft traditions
Namangan region has long been a center of handicrafts. Areas of applied art such as knife and skullcap manufacturing, embroidery, the production of satin and silk fabrics, and silk dyeing are developed here.
Large-scale efforts are underway to promote national handicrafts internationally and increase tourist traffic to Uzbekistan. To this end, foreign bloggers and media representatives are invited to Uzbekistan.
American bloggers Miles and Jessica became one of such guests. During their visit to Namangan region, they became acquainted in detail with the traditions of sericulture, knife-making, skullcap-making, and other areas of national handicrafts.
The main purpose of the trip was to popularize national art forms among American audiences and to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential through authors' blogs.
For two days, the bloggers visited the handicraft centers in Namangan region, became familiar with artisans’ activities, observed the production process, and studied national traditions.
The guests received practical assistance from the Hunarmand Association’s regional department.
