Uzbekistan chairs the CIS Tourism Council
Uzbekistan will chair the CIS Tourism Council for 2026-2027.
The decision was made at the Council’s regular meeting in Dushanbe. The event was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, underscoring the Commonwealth countries’ interest in developing a joint tourist destination.
During its presidency, Uzbekistan aims to enhance cross-border tourism by developing joint routes that connect attractions across multiple countries in the region. Additionally, it plans to increase the exchange of statistics and accelerate the joint training of industry professionals.
The regular meeting of the CIS Tourism Council 2027 will take place in Uzbekistan.
