Uzbekistan and Türkiye expand investment cooperation
Sohibjon Murodov, Director of the State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with Özgür Onur Özgüven, Chairman of the Türkiye – Uzbekistan Business Council under the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK).
The meeting focused on attracting Turkish investors to Uzbekistan’s privatization process and strengthening ties between the business communities of the two countries.
The parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to keep Turkish companies informed about privatization progress, exchange investment proposals, and establish systematic cooperation. The agreement also provides for a special panel session for Turkish investors in December, where promising state-owned assets in Uzbekistan and the terms of their acquisition will be presented.
Mr. Murodov said that, under a relevant decree of the President, state-owned stakes in 84 enterprises, 1,242 real estate properties and nearly 8,000 hectares of land would be put up for sale in 2026-2027. The total value of the assets offered for sale is estimated at nearly 100 trillion UZS.
Investors who pay the full purchase price within six months will receive a 25 percent discount. Seven-year installment plans will be interest-free. Buyers will also be allowed to begin reconstructing a property once they have paid at least 50 percent of its purchase price.
