Major cotton and textile cluster to be established in Bukhara
Bukhara region Hokim Botir Zaripov met with the leadership of China's Lihua Group in Uzbekistan.
In cooperation with Lihua Group, a major cotton and textile cluster is planned for the region, covering the entire production chain, from cotton cultivation and advanced processing to the manufacture of finished products.
Under the agreement reached, the project envisages bringing 20,000 hectares of desert land in Shofirkon district and another 9,000 hectares in Romitan district into agricultural use, integrating cotton cultivation and textile manufacturing into a single production system.
In partnership with Chinese investors, Jemchujina Romitan LLC has already been established. The company has developed 2,000 hectares of land in the Ernafas Khojayev tract in Qoqishtuvon area. This year, the company grew cotton on 120 hectares using agricultural technology from China’s Xinjiang region. This initial experience provides a valuable foundation for expanding the project and introducing modern agricultural technologies on a larger scale.
Next year, the project aims to establish cotton cultivation across all the developed land and systematically organize production processes.
