Uzbekistan and Türkiye enhance cooperation on coal deposit development

The leadership of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with Caner Karabay, regional director of the Turkish company Cengiz Holding in Uzbekistan and General Director of Cenergo LLC.

The parties discussed prospects for developing the country’s mineral resources and opportunities for implementing new investment projects.

Particular attention was paid to geological exploration of promising sites in Uzbekistan and preparations for their subsequent development.

According to the ministry, the parties explored opportunities for cooperation in coal exploration and mining at deposits located in Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions.

During the talks, ministry representatives also briefed the investors on the sector’s existing legal and regulatory framework and available opportunities.
