Uzbekistan and Japan strengthen cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector
The Agency for the Development of the Medicine and Pharmaceutical Industry hosted a meeting with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Director of the Agency Abdulla Azizov provided information on the reforms underway in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry, including efforts to increase production capacity, attract investment, introduce innovations, and expand international cooperation.
The Agency also presented its experience in international cooperation in technology transfer, scientific research, personnel training, and the implementation of investment projects.
JICA representatives spoke about technical assistance programs in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, professional development opportunities, and knowledge and experience exchange.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to expand practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals, and to implement joint initiatives and innovative projects.
