Uzbekistan and China will collaborate to train experts in the textile sector
The Xinjiang – Alar Textile Raw Materials Summit and the 20th Cotton and Textile Industry Forum were recently held in Alar, China. Uzbekistan delegation actively participated in these events focused on textile industry development. During the meetings, textile company representatives, industry groups, and manufacturers from both countries shared experiences and explored promising opportunities for future collaboration.
The primary emphasis was on developing the full production chain, from processing raw cotton to creating fiber, yarn, fabrics, and finished goods. Participants also considered adopting modern technologies, automating production processes, enhancing product quality, and forming joint ventures.
Uzbek company representatives discussed with Chinese partners producing chemical fibers such as polyester, viscose, and lyocell, as well as blended fabrics. They also explored modern dyeing and finishing technologies.
The Chinese side, in turn, expressed interest in leveraging Uzbekistan’s production capabilities by pursuing joint projects and manufacturing goods for Central Asia, the CIS, and European markets.
The Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association, along with its Chinese industry partners, agreed to collaborate on training local and fashion designers to improve their professional skills and share expertise.
