Uzatom and Rosatom delegations review a major project in Farish district
A modern residential town is being built in Farish district of Jizzakh region for employees of the future nuclear power plant and their families.
The previous day, representatives of the Nuclear Energy Development Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Rosatom State Corporation visited the construction sites and reviewed the project’s progress.

During the meeting, discussions covered not only the construction of the nuclear power plant but also plans for comfortable living conditions in the future residential town. The parties reviewed the next construction stages, infrastructure development, and coordination efforts to carry out the planned activities.

One of the project’s key objectives is to create a modern urban environment for nuclear power plant specialists and their families. The development will span approximately 200 hectares and provide housing for nearly 33,000 people. Plans include building around 10,000 apartments, along with schools, kindergartens, healthcare and sports facilities, and cultural centers. Landscaping and the introduction of energy-saving technologies will also be important components of the project.
The delegation members reviewed compliance with safety requirements during construction, the quality of the work, and measures to ensure compliance with environmental standards. Meeting these requirements is essential to the facility’s safe, reliable operation.
