TMH presented projects at a press conference for Uzbek media outlets
A press conference featuring representatives of Uzbek media and company executives was held at Transmashholding’s (TMH) central office in Moscow. The meeting was part of a press tour organized ahead of the 6th International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia” (April 20-22).
The event was attended by Natalia Shishlakova, TMH Vice President and Director of the TMH Corporate University, Alexander Loshmanov, Deputy Director General for Passenger Transport Development, Daria Marku, Director General of TMH Urban Transport, Andrey Romanchikov, Managing Director for the Development of Intelligent Control Systems, and other representatives of the holding.
During the meeting, the key areas of TMH’s activities were presented, and prospects for expanding cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan to develop railway and urban rail transport were discussed. Particular attention was paid to developing digital solutions, introducing intelligent control systems, and training personnel for the transport sector. As stated by Daria Marku, the Tashkent Metro has been one of Transmashholding’s key partners since 1977. She noted that the cooperation has a long history and continues to develop.

Since 2019, during a period of active fleet modernization, the Tashkent Metro has approached TMH to supply modern railcars. The 81-765 series cars were proposed as the base model and are currently in operation in Uzbekistan’s capital metro system.
Currently, 164 railcars of this series have been delivered to Tashkent. A new contract is underway to supply an additional 56 railcars, with plans to put them into operation by the end of the current year. Thus, the total fleet of this type will exceed 200 units. Prospective needs for 2027-2028 are also being considered, envisaging a possible supply of up to 140 railcars (70 annually), Daria Marku stated.
She noted that the initial 2019 deliveries included a significant share of imported components. However, since 2022, production has been fully transferred to a Russian technological base as part of import substitution programs. At the same time, modernization continues, including adapting air conditioning systems to Tashkent’s climatic conditions.
According to a TMH representative, continuous work is underway to improve the design of rolling stock. Daria Marku added that the service life of the supplied railcars is 30 years, noting that extending their operation is generally impractical due to the industry’s rapid technological renewal. The parameters of future agreements are currently under development.

Transmashholding will serve as a high-tech and software partner for the “INNOPROM. Central Asia” exhibition. As part of the business program, the company will partner with an expert roundtable on “Intelligent Systems for Transport: Challenges and Joint Solutions”. The discussion will include regulators, representatives of public and private organizations, and educational and research institutions in Uzbekistan. The main topics will include the development of highly automated transport, the modernization of communication infrastructure, the creation of testing grounds, and the training of specialists for the industry.
As part of the press tour, Uzbekistan journalists also visited TMH’s production and engineering sites in Moscow and Moscow region, including Metrovagonmash, the Demikhovsky Machine-Building Plant, and TMH Engineering, as well as the electric depot of the Moscow Metro, where rolling stock maintenance is performed.
Transmashholding is a long-standing partner of the Republic of Uzbekistan and implements projects in the fields of railway and urban transport. Over the years of cooperation, locomotives, metro cars, components, and parts worth more than 27 billion rubles have been supplied to Uzbekistan.
TMH is one of the largest developers and manufacturers of rolling stock for railway and urban rail transport, uniting enterprises in 10 cities and employing more than 13,000 people.
