The International “Iroqi” Embroidery Festival kicks off in Shahrisabz
Today, the three-day International “Iroqi” Embroidery Festival begins in Shahrisabz district of Kashkadarya region, with a focus on promoting traditional national crafts and the distinctive art of embroidery.
According to the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, the festival aims to highlight the traditions of Uzbek embroidery, passed down through generations for centuries, support skilled artisans’ work, and attract more interest in this unique art form.
The event gathers talented embroiderers from different regions of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries, showcasing their unique and valuable work.
The festival program features:
– traditional embroidery exhibition;
– presentations of artisans’ creative works;
– embroidery workshops;
– exhibitions and presentations dedicated to traditional crafts;
– cultural and entertainment activities;
– experience-sharing sessions between local and international artisans.
The festival will run until August 15th.
