Sergey aims to become a champion in China, Layma in Spain
This week, prestigious men's and women's tennis tournaments will take place in China and Spain. Delightfully, Sergey Fomin and Layma Vladson will be defending our country's honor at these events.
To be more specific, Sergey Fomin is competing in the main draw of the singles competition at the "Rolex Shanghai Masters," a "Challenger 100" series tournament for men, taking place in Shanghai until September 13. In the first round, our tennis player will face host representative Zhou Yi.
Meanwhile, at the ITF women's tournament in Reus, Spain, our compatriot Layma Vladson began her campaign in the qualifying stage. In the tournament, which has a prize fund of 30,000 US dollars, Layma played her first match against Ares Teixido García of Spain, ultimately securing a victory with a score of 6:2, 5:7, 10:8.
Now, Layma Vladson will play against Leticia Romanova of Great Britain in the qualifying final for a spot in the first round of the main draw.
