President of Uzbekistan expresses condolences to the Amir and people of Qatar
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the State of Qatar to attend mourning events following the passing of the former Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
At Lusail Palace, the President of Uzbekistan met with the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his deep condolences to the Amir of Qatar on the passing of his father.
It was noted that Sheikh Hamad Al Thani was a prominent statesman who made an immense contribution to the historic achievements of the State of Qatar, its large-scale development efforts, dynamic socioeconomic reforms, and the strengthening of the country’s international standing.

At the same time, His Highness’s major contribution to the development and strengthening of the close friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar was particularly noted.
The President of Uzbekistan also emphasized that Qatar today plays an important role in ensuring peace and stability in the region and that the “voice of Doha” has gained significant influence on the international stage.
The leaders discussed strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar, elevating multifaceted cooperation to a new level, and current issues on the international and regional agenda.

In turn, the Amir of Qatar expressed his deep appreciation to the President of Uzbekistan for his personal visit, sincere condolences, and the friendly support extended during these difficult days.
Following the meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited the Amir of Qatar to visit Uzbekistan at a time convenient for him.
