New textile project launched in Mingachevir
A major investment project involving Uzbek and Azerbaijani companies has been launched at Azerbaijan’s Mingachevir Industrial Park to establish a textile complex.
The launch ceremony was attended by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Azersheker LLC Nasib Islamzade, and Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Global Textile Group Muzaffar Razzoqov.
The Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Investment Company, Global Textile, and Azersheker are the founders of Textile Horizon LLC, which is implementing the project.
The new complex will occupy 11.2 hectares. The enterprise will operate a full production cycle, from cotton cultivation to manufacturing finished products. In particular, it will produce cotton lint, yarn, dyed fabric, and garments. At full capacity, the complex will produce 16,000 tons of cotton lint, 11,000 tons of yarn, and 7,300 tons of fabric annually. Annual output of finished products is expected to reach 11 million units.
According to the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association, the project envisages supplying products to Azerbaijan’s domestic market and exporting them to third countries.
The initiative aims to expand industrial cooperation in the textile sector, strengthen investment ties, and increase the number of joint production ventures. The project will lay the groundwork for new areas of cooperation between Uzbek and Azerbaijani companies.
