The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the new campus of the National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan named after Nizami in New Tashkent.
The Heads of State planted a tree near the monument to Nizami Ganjavi.
The leaders were briefed on the construction of the university complex and plans to develop its educational infrastructure and campus.

The campus is being developed in two stages on a 40-hectare site. It will include academic buildings for 20,000 students and dormitories for 5,000 students.
As part of the first stage, a five-storey academic building with a capacity of 12,000 students and a modern laboratory complex have been built.
