Maria Timofeeva becomes champion in Türkiye

Maria Timofeeva, the No. 3 player on Uzbekistan’s national tennis team, won the top prize at an international WTA 125 women’s tournament in Istanbul, Türkiye.

More specifically, in the tournament’s final decisive match, Maria Timofeeva faced Croatia’s Donna Vekić. In the match, which lasted two sets, Uzbekistan’s tennis player won 6:4, 6:2 to become the tournament champion.

For Maria, this success brought $15,500 in prize money and 125 WTA ranking points. Donna Vekić, the tournament runner-up, received $8,400 and 81 ranking points.
