Istanbul becomes the largest transit hub for Uzbekistan citizens
Aviasales.uz has analyzed the most popular transit destinations for passengers from Uzbekistan in 2026. According to analytical data, Istanbul was the top international transit hub.
The Turkish metropolis accounted for nearly 19% of all transfers. Experts attribute this to its well-developed route network and convenient connections to Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
Moscow and Baku were also among the largest transit hubs, with shares of about 11% and 10%, respectively. These destinations remain in demand for flights to CIS countries and Europe.
At the same time, the role of Asian routes is growing. Beijing ranked among the leading destinations, with a share of nearly 9%. Together with Urumqi, Guangzhou, and Xi'an, Chinese cities accounted for more than 20% of Uzbekistan users’ transit flights. This indicates growing interest in air routes through Asia.
Cities in the UAE also maintained strong positions. Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi together accounted for nearly one-fifth of connecting flights. Warsaw, Seoul, Almaty, and Riga were also included in the ranking of popular transit destinations.
