Issues related to the development of cooperation in the customs sphere discussed
An online meeting was held between representatives of the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan’s customs authorities.
During the talks, the parties discussed in detail issues related to developing cooperation in the customs area.
Special attention was given to issues related to freight movement at the Ayritom border customs post. The discussion focused on the accumulation of vehicles and the inconveniences caused by the reconstruction work.
In addition, the parties considered issues related to introducing a green corridor mechanism to simplify and accelerate border-crossing procedures and to improve the information exchange system.
The Afghan side announced its intention to submit its proposals on the green corridor mechanism in the near future. It was also noted that an official position on information exchange issues would be presented as soon as possible.
The Uzbek side emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted freight transport, expediting customs clearance, and creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurs.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to strengthen practical cooperation and to continue regular dialogue.
