Interpol National Central Bureaus chiefs from CIS Member States convene in Minsk
Minsk hosted a meeting of the Heads of Interpol National Central Bureaus from CIS Member States. The event was attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies from several countries, as well as representatives of international organizations.
Delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan attended the forum. In addition, representatives of the CIS Bureau for Coordination of Combating Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Crimes and the Interpol General Secretariat participated in the meeting.
Gennady Kazakevich, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Head of the Criminal Police, welcomed the participants on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on cooperation between the national central bureaus through Interpol channels. The parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing information exchange, identified existing problems, and considered possible solutions. The parties separately discussed the state’s participation in Interpol events related to improving the organization's charter and rules for information processing.
The importance of consistently observing Interpol’s neutrality and avoiding the influence of factors outside the competence of law enforcement agencies was emphasized. The need to further strengthen practical cooperation between national central bureaus was also noted. According to participants, developing direct dialogue and trusting relations between the heads of the National Security Council will increase the agility and effectiveness of international cooperation in combating transnational crime.
Such interaction is becoming particularly relevant amid the growth of digital and cross-border crime, which requires coordinated action by law enforcement agencies across states.
