Best global practices to be implemented in the public services sector
A delegation led by Eldor Mahkamov, Head of the Department of Public Services at the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan, is studying Europe’s best experience in public service delivery at the European Institute of Public Administration.
Special focus during the business trip is placed on EU best practices for reducing direct state involvement in the provision of public services, developing market mechanisms, and expanding the private sector’s role.

In particular, the delegation examined the criteria and mechanisms for transferring certain public services to the private sector in Luxembourg and other European countries. The participants also discussed the possibilities of adapting best practices to Uzbekistan’s conditions, changing the role of the state in the service delivery system, and the functions that are advisable to retain under the jurisdiction of state bodies.
The knowledge and international experience gained will be applied to enhance the system for providing state services in Uzbekistan.
