Healthcare cooperation between parliaments discussed
As part of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Uzbekistan delegation attended meetings of the IPU Committee on Health and a seminar on mental health.
Oral Ataniyazova, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, participated in discussions on the Committee’s activity report.

The participants addressed measures to protect women’s health, ensure reproductive health, prevent HIV/AIDS, and improve public access to healthcare services. Particular attention was paid to protecting adolescents’ reproductive health.
Participants also discussed ways to make effective use of parliamentary powers in lawmaking, drawing on the experience and proposals of international partners.
The seminar on mental health across generations focused on legislative initiatives and strategies to support mental well-being across age groups. Discussions covered practical measures parliaments have taken to prevent problems associated with digital stress, economic hardship, and social instability, as well as approaches to strengthening psychological resilience and providing psychological support at the local level.
