GEOMIN AI Labs 2026 identifies the best projects
Tashkent hosted the final stage of GEOMIN AI Labs 2026.
The event covered the application of artificial intelligence technologies and Data Science methods to achieve practical objectives in the mining industry and geology.
The hackathon was held in collaboration with SLB as part of the GEOMIN 2026 international conference, organized by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
The competition took place in several stages and featured over 60 students in Uzbekistan and young professionals. After the qualifying stage, 10 finalists presented their projects to the expert jury.
In the final stage, participants presented their research findings and demonstrated their practical applications.
The expert jury awarded Ziyoda Minavarova, a student at the University of Geological Sciences, first place. Diyora Karimova from the Olmaliq branch of the National Research Technological University MISiS took second, while Temirali Sodiqov of the Olmaliq State Technical Institute took third.
The first and second place holders earned the chance to undertake a paid internship at SLB, where they will work on solving practical industry challenges using Data Science, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies.
