Linagora is considering localizing part of the development in Uzbekistan
Bobur Khodjayev, Head of the Department for Financial Technologies, Digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies, met with Alexandre Zapolsky, Founder and President of Linagora, during the International Space Summit in Paris.
The meeting explored the potential transfer of some software development activities to Uzbekistan, focusing on the possibility of having teams there develop and maintain specific software products.
The availability of qualified IT specialists, competitive cost levels, and a well-developed ecosystem for IT companies in Uzbekistan were highlighted as key advantages. IT Park representatives discussed Uzbekistan’s human resources potential, cost structure, and opportunities available to resident companies. Linagora representatives were also informed about current support measures and benefits provided to IT Park residents.
The parties exchanged views on digital solutions developed by domestic IT companies. The possibilities of promoting these products in the European market and of increasing the export potential of IT solutions in Uzbekistan were considered.
Potential collaboration could extend beyond software development. IT Park and Linagora explored opportunities for cooperation in digital sovereignty. Specifically, they considered implementing Linagora’s solutions, including Twake, LinShare, and OSSA, within Uzbekistan’s public and private sectors.
The meeting focused on artificial intelligence. The parties discussed Linagora’s experience implementing the OpenLLM Europe project, as well as the LUCIE artificial intelligence model developed as part of this project.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to explore promising areas of cooperation to develop Uzbekistan’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, introduce advanced technological solutions, and implement joint projects.
