Event Horizon – a dialogue between contemporary art and creative thinking
As part of the 11th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art, the Event Horizon exhibition has opened at the Fine Art Gallery of Uzbekistan. The exhibition features works by artists from Uzbekistan and other countries across a range of contemporary art genres and directions.
The exhibition includes fine art, conceptual art, installation, photography, and video art, reflecting the artists’ unique perspectives, creative journeys, and individual methods.
Uzbekistan’s contemporary art is prominently showcased through the works of the “5+1” creative collective, which includes Diyor Rozikov, Nuriddin Rasulov, Sharifa, and Daniyar Sharifkhodjayevs. Their oeuvre spans a diverse range of artistic media, seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary approaches.
The exhibition features the work “Ships of the Desert” and the installation “L.O.T.O.S.”, both created as part of the AFTER US Project. This installation, composed of baskets made of wood, copper, and mulberry branches, reflects contemporary artistic ideas through traditional materials.
The artworks presented at the exhibition address important topics such as cultural memory, the philosophy of existence, and human self-discovery in the modern world. Through various artistic media, the artists seek to reveal the connections between the past and the present, national values, and universal human ideas.
The Event Horizon Exhibition aims to engage viewers with artworks, reveal their hidden meanings and symbols, and encourage independent interpretation of the author’s ideas. It promotes intercultural dialogue, showcases new trends in contemporary art, and strengthens international cooperation.
