Bishkek hosts SCO Journalists Forum
A forum of journalists from SCO member and observer states was held in Bishkek as part of the 25th anniversary of the SCO’s establishment.
The forum was attended by SCO Deputy Secretary General Piao Yangfan, Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulan Mamatkanov, Deputy Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Bolot Ibragimov, Director of the State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China Mo Gaoyi, as well as ambassadors, ministers and media representatives from SCO member and observer states.


Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulan Mamatkanov noted that such dialogue is dictated by the demands of the time, as economic cooperation has reached nearly its highest level, and it is now the turn of humanitarian projects, including those aimed at strengthening mutual trust between peoples and individuals.


Former President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva states, “Our goal is to build greater trust among peoples and individuals”. She expresses her desire for more young people to study in neighboring countries, believing this would help them better understand the lifestyles of those nations and ultimately deepen friendship and trust.
As part of the forum, journalists signed cooperation agreements across various areas and launched joint projects.
