577.7 thousand teachers work in Uzbekistan

According to the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year, the number of teachers in general secondary education institutions in Uzbekistan totaled 577.7 thousand, excluding part-time employees.

This figure increased by 12.8 thousand, or 2.3%, from the 2024/2025 academic year.

Women accounted for 72.5% of all teachers, or 418.8 thousand, while men accounted for 27.5%, or 158.9 thousand.
