A festive event timed to Teachers and Mentors Day takes place in Tashkent
A festive event, timed to October 1 – Teachers and Mentors Day, was held at the International Forums Palace in Tashkent.
Teachers across all sectors of education, honorary educators, and aspiring young teachers were invited to the event.
As highlighted in the congratulatory message from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to teachers and mentors of Uzbekistan, special attention is given to the development of education, spirituality, and enlightenment, which form the foundation of the New Uzbekistan. In this process, comprehensive, systematic, and exemplary practical efforts to honor and glorify teachers, and to further elevate their status and position in society, are becoming a key factor behind schoolchildren’stremendous achievements.
The Teacher of the Year competition was held for the first time this year to support educators and worthily reward their hard work.

This year, Uzbekistan’s youth won 20 medals (1 gold, 8 silver, and 11 bronze) at 5 prestigious international Olympiads. Consequently, schoolchildren’s performance in the international arena has increased fivefold over the past decade, marking a historic achievement.
In 2026, Uzbekistan’s talented students won 228 medals (38 gold, 82 silver, and 108 bronze) at 28 prestigious international and regional Olympiads.
Several initiatives are also being implemented in vocational guidance and training for students. In the 2025-2026 school year, a vocational education system for students was introduced in 400 schools across the country.
The event featured songs and melodies celebrating the renewal taking place in Uzbekistan and expressing deep respect and honor for teachers.
