Uzbekistan expands international cooperation
As part of the 57th session of the United Nations Statistical Commission, held at the UN Headquarters in New York, the delegation of Uzbekistan held several important meetings with international organizations and statistical agencies from various countries.
Bilateral meetings were held with the heads of statistical agencies of Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, China, Georgia, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, and Switzerland.

The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in official statistics, studying and implementing advanced international experience, improving statistical methodologies in accordance with international standards, expanding the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and enhancing data quality and openness. Negotiations were also held on improving personnel qualifications, organizing joint training programs, using administrative information, and developing interagency data exchange.

Within the framework of the session, the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics signed two important documents to strengthen international cooperation – memoranda of understanding with the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and the Turkish Statistical Institute. These documents aim to strengthen practical cooperation to modernize the system of official statistics, adapt statistical methodologies to international standards, and improve the qualifications of specialists. Joint events, expert exchanges, and the phased implementation of specific tasks are planned.
