Uzbekistan and Japan enhance collaboration in water management
The Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Khamrayev met with members of the Japanese delegation led by Hiroomi Yoshikawa, Director of the International Trade Department at Kubota Corporation.
Issues of effective water resources management, modernization of irrigation infrastructure, reconstruction of pumping stations and other hydraulic structures, introduction of energy-saving technologies, and widespread use of digital control and monitoring systems were discussed at the meeting.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to expand cooperation in water management.
The document provides for strengthening cooperation in the development of irrigation systems, water resources management, the implementation of public-private partnership projects, the introduction of advanced technologies and professional development.
