Uzbekistan and Denmark strengthen political, trade, economic, and investment cooperation

Sodiq Safoyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with Lars Thuesen, Special Representative for Central Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

The parties discussed opportunities to expand interparliamentary cooperation. It was agreed to strengthen contacts between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Folketinget (Danish Parliament). Additionally, the parties committed to conducting mutual visits and consultations.

The parties exchanged views on political, trade-economic, and investment cooperation. In particular, the need to increase the volume of mutual trade, attract Danish companies to implement projects in Uzbekistan, and pursue joint initiatives in the fields of energy, municipal infrastructure, water and agriculture, and vocational education was emphasized.

Special attention was given to strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia, mitigating the effects of climate change, and empowering young people.
