Updates on the overall medal standings at the Asian Games
Several shifts in the overall medal standings took place after the events on September 21 at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan.
On the second day of the Asian Games, Uzbekistan’s team secured a gold and bronze medal. Abdulvahob Rashidov claimed gold in karate, while Nodirbek Shavkatov earned bronze in MMA. As a result, Uzbekistan climbed to ninth place in the overall rankings, with one gold, one silver, and one bronze.
Following the competitions held on September 21 at the Asian Games, China leads the medal standings with 23 gold, 10 silver, and 5 bronze medals, for a total of 38. Japan ranks second with 8 gold, 12 silver, and 12 bronze medals, while the Republic of Korea ranks third with 5 gold, 3 silver, and 15 bronze medals.
The top ten features Kazakhstan with 4 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Thailand has 3 gold and 1 silver. Hong Kong earned 2 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Chinese Taipei secured 1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Macao collected 1 gold and 3 silver medals. Uzbekistan and Myanmar each won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
During the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, the Uzbekistan team ranked fifth overall with 22 gold, 18 silver, and 31 bronze medals, totaling 71 medals.
