Turkish editions of Erkin Vahidov and Abdulla Aripov’s works presented in Ankara
The International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) has published Turkish translations of works by Erkin Vahidov and Abdulla Aripov, Heroes of Uzbekistan.
The books were presented in Ankara as part of efforts to introduce these prominent figures of Uzbek literature to a wider audience across the Turkic world.

This year, Uzbekistan is widely celebrating the 90th anniversary of the birth of Erkin Vahidov and the 85th anniversary of the birth of Abdulla Aripov, Heroes and People’s Poets of Uzbekistan. To mark these anniversaries and promote the literary legacy of the two distinguished Uzbek poets throughout the Turkic world, TURKSOY prepared and published Turkish editions of Vahidov’s “Söz Letafeti” and Aripov’s “Seçmeler”.

The event, jointly organized by TURKSOY, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Türkiye, the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan and the National Library of Türkiye, brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, family members of the two poets, prominent scholars and researchers studying the works of Erkin Vahidov and Abdulla Aripov in Türkiye, and members of the public.

Participants also viewed a photography exhibition in the library foyer dedicated to the lives and literary achievements of Erkin Vahidov and Abdulla Aripov.

Artists from Uzbekistan presented a concert featuring songs set to poems by Erkin Vahidov and Abdulla Aripov.
