Tashkent hosts Al Jazeera Media Week
Tashkent hosted the grand closing ceremony of the Al Jazeera Media Week, a major event for media professionals.
This prestigious event, organized in collaboration with the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan and the Al Jazeera Media Network, was a practical expression of friendship, mutual trust, and beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar in the media sector.

During the week, participants explored international best practices and the most pressing trends in the modern media industry, including digitalization, artificial intelligence, new information formats, and multimedia technologies. The curriculum covered five main areas, including mobile journalism, artificial intelligence, digital media, designing and editing visuals, and general media skills.

National Television and Radio Company employees, representatives of the Dunyo Information Agency, Renaissance TV, ZO’R TV, MY5, and Sevimli, and talented students from the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan attended the event.
About 100 journalists, media professionals, and young people participated in intensive training sessions led by experienced Al Jazeera experts. Following the event, the participants received international certificates.

During the solemn closing ceremony, it was emphasized that ensuring freedom of speech and the press in Uzbekistan, along with strengthening the professional competence and capacity of media workers, is a significant priority in state policy. In addition, preparing qualified specialists capable of meeting the demands of the modern media environment, while integrating international best practices and innovative approaches, was identified as a critical priority.
The training sessions led by Al Jazeera experts served as a unique masterclass, providing participants with hands-on experience in modern journalism and media technologies. During the training, participants acquired new knowledge and competencies in advanced information formats, visual content generation, mobile journalism, and the effective use of artificial intelligence in the media sector.

It should be emphasized that the Al Jazeera Media Week served not only to upskill but also as a crucial platform for fresh ideas, professional networking, and global knowledge sharing. The innovative approaches and modern media solutions presented during the week will support the further development of Uzbekistan’s media space.

To provide a stronger legal basis for long-term cooperation in the media sector, the Al Jazeera Media Institute and Uzbekistan’s National Television and Radio Company also signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation.
This document opens up new opportunities to establish joint educational programs, facilitate expert exchanges, strengthen professional qualifications, and jointly implement major media and content projects in the future.

Al Jazeera Media Week concluded as an important professional platform that harmoniously combined modern journalism, innovative technology, and international cooperation.
