Taalaibek Ibraev: “Energy is the foundation of the economy”
The “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue Summit, held in Tokyo, provided new impetus for energy-sector cooperation. Key issues included hydropower, renewable energy, and significant infrastructure projects.
The Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev emphasized that energy cooperation among Central Asian countries is rooted in strong historical ties. He highlighted the importance of Uzbekistan’s participation in the Kambarata Hydropower Plant-1 project, which is strategically significant for both the energy sector and the region’s food security. According to him, energy is the economy’s flagship and the foundation of long-term regional development.
