Consul General Mehmet Macit, President of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye Erol Özvar, and Deputy Hokim of Samarkand region Rustam Qobilov congratulated the participants on the Republic Day of Türkiye.
“The Republic Day of Türkiye is widely celebrated not only by our 85 million compatriots, but also by more than 6 million Turks living abroad”, noted Mr. Macit. “We are glad to have the opportunity to celebrate this holiday in Uzbekistan. The ties between Türkiye and Uzbekistan are equal and brotherly, grounded in a common history and leading to a bright future. The assistance provided by the Uzbek side in restoring residential buildings in Hatay Province after the earthquake that struck our country on February 6, 2023, once again affirmed this friendship”.
The ceremony underscored the strong ties between Uzbekistan and Türkiye across all sectors, as well as the Samarkand diplomatic mission’s valuable contribution to strengthening this cooperation.
