Minister of Internal Affairs meets with Interpol Secretary General
As part of the Meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security of SCO Member States in Bishkek, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, met with Interpol Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza.
During the constructive conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of international law enforcement cooperation.
The parties also focused on combating transnational organized crime, improving the operational exchange of information, and expanding cooperation in international investigations.

As noted, in an environment where current challenges and threats are becoming global, effective crime prevention requires coordination among state law enforcement agencies. From this point of view, partnership with Interpol is one of the priorities of the international activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and is important for improving the effectiveness of the fight against cross-border crime.
In turn, V. Urquiza stressed Interpol’s interest in strengthening its partnership with Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, the parties identified promising tasks to expand international cooperation to ensure public safety, protect citizens’ rights and legitimate interests, and combat crime.
