At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a cultural and park complex, “Babur Park”, is planned for establishment in Islamabad, Pakistan. The park will become a gift from the people of Uzbekistan to the people of Pakistan and a symbol of the two countries’ shared history.
According to diplomatic sources, on 14-17 February, a delegation from the country, led by Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Sherzod Khidoyatov, visited Pakistan. The visit was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in that country. During negotiations with the city administration and representatives of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the architectural concept, infrastructure, and stages of project implementation were discussed.

The park will be located in the prestigious F-7 sector of Islamabad on approximately 2.5 hectares. The project envisages creating walking alleys, fountains, children’s and sports grounds, recreation areas, and a national teahouse featuring Uzbek cuisine. The central element will be a bust of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur.
