These days, a significant date is widely celebrated in the country – the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur. On this special occasion, numerous spiritual, educational, scientific, and cultural events are being held across the entire country.

Amir Temur is a prominent historical figure who, in the 14th century, during a very challenging period, restored national sovereignty in the country, showing unwavering bravery in the fight for the homeland’s freedom. The powerful state he established left a permanent mark on the history of world civilization. Even after seven centuries, scholars worldwide continue to study the life and achievements of Sahibkiran Amir Temur with great interest. The fact that thousands of artistic, scientific, and cultural works dedicated to Amir Temur and the Timurid era have been created across different countries, and that their number continues to grow, attests to the enduring importance of his personality and legacy.
Our fellow citizens feel pride and satisfaction that such a great figure as Amir Temur was born in the sacred land of our Motherland. A thorough study of Amir Temur’s history and the Timurid era is especially important today, particularly in the context of the New Uzbekistan. The Timurid Renaissance, created by this illustrious dynasty, has become a source of confidence, inspiration, and creative energy for our people as we lay the groundwork for a new Renaissance in the country.

The wise sayings of Amir Temur, such as “Strength is in justice” and “Justice makes the world prosper”, today serve as a kind of program and practical guideline in the implementation of large-scale reforms aimed at building a social state and elevating human dignity in the country. In this sense, the legacy of Sahibkiran is not only part of the glorious past of our people but also closely connected to our current development and strategic goals.

Recently, our country has placed greater emphasis on the thorough study of Amir Temur’s legacy and the Timurid period, along with promoting them widely both domestically and internationally. A special resolution was enacted to mark the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur, and extensive efforts are underway.

In particular, April will be observed each year as the Month of Amir Temur. New scientific and artistic books, films, theatrical productions, and works of fine art are being created. Notably, the famous work “The Code of Temur” has been republished. In Uzbekistan, there are state awards, squares, alleys, as well as educational and cultural institutions named after our great ancestor. The “Temurbeklar Maktabi” schools operating in the regions serve as a model in educating young people to be devoted to the Motherland.

A clear example of the steady and systematic ongoing of this noble work is that, these days, a prestigious international conference dedicated to Amir Temur and the Timurid Renaissance is being held in Tashkent. Alongside scholars from the country, prominent historians, poets, and writers, as well as representatives of culture and society from various countries, are participating in the event.

Following Sahibkiran’s teachings, today the country emphasizes building a fair state, helping those in need, supporting youth, women, and older people, advancing science and education, fostering creativity, remaining open to the world, and cooperating with various nations. These points also clearly demonstrate the significance of Amir Temur’s legacy in our modern life.

To understand our identity, restore our rich history, and pass on our ancestors’ heritage to future generations, major spiritual and educational centers have been established in recent years. In Tashkent, the Islamic Civilization Center has been constructed, and in Samarkand, the Imam Bukhari complex. Alongside them, the State Museum of the Temurids History, built 30 years ago, has also been renovated to meet modern standards. It is now becoming a hub for science and education, innovation, new ideas, and research. All necessary conditions have been created here to inspire the younger generation with national pride and patriotism.

During the event, deep respect was shown to the memory of Amir Temur, and flowers were laid at his monument.

As is known, Sahibkiran Amir Temur, wherever he was, placed great importance on creating gardens and parks and improving cities. Continuing these traditions, large-scale landscaping projects were also undertaken in Amir Temur Square.
