FIA General Assembly Week opens
The FIA General Assembly Week, one of the key events in motorsport, has officially begun in Tashkent.
The opening ceremony took place at the Uzbekistan International Forums Palace, with FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the leadership of the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the National Olympic Committee, as well as representatives of the federation’s member organizations in attendance.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Adham Ikramov, congratulated the participants and highlighted ongoing efforts to develop the sports sector, improve infrastructure, and expand international cooperation.
In his speech, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem noted that holding the General Assembly Week in Central Asia for the first time is a significant event. Several teams and organizations that demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the year were also officially recognized.
Within the framework of the General Assembly, special attention will be given not only to motorsport, but also to issues related to ensuring road traffic safety. To support these global initiatives, Uzbekistan is participating in discussions on international solutions to improve road safety and reduce accidents.
An election for the FIA Presidency is scheduled for the event. In addition, special exhibitions are being organized for motorsport professionals and enthusiasts.
