Agreements reached on investment projects with influential Pakistani companies
A delegation led by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtayev and Navoi Region Hokim Normat Tursunov met in Karachi with the heads of several major companies.
During a meeting with Muhammad Sohail Tabba, Chairman of Yunus Brothers Group, the parties discussed in detail issues related to expanding economic cooperation between Navoi region and Pakistan, as well as to transforming the existing political trust into concrete industrial projects.
The sides reached an agreement to implement joint investment projects in priority areas such as the textile industry, construction materials production, chemical and polymer products, energy, and automotive components.
During talks with Sohail Moten, the head of Diners Group, the sides discussed issues related to creating garment and knitwear clusters, organizing ready-made clothing production, and introducing advanced methods for establishing export-oriented joint ventures.
During negotiations with Ahsan Zafar Syed, President and CEO of Engro Corporation, one of Pakistan’s leading industrial groups, the parties exchanged views on expanding relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and on launching large-scale production projects in Navoi.
The Uzbekistan delegation also learned about the activities of Rajby Industries. During a conversation with the company’s Director, Masood Naqi, the sides discussed cooperation in denim and ready-made garment production. The main focus was on organizing denim garment production in Navoi, introducing modern technologies, and establishing export-oriented joint ventures.
The delegation also became familiar with the activities of leading agro-industrial and food companies. In particular, it reviewed the production processes, management system, and export potential of Pak Agro Group, one of the country’s largest industrial groups.
During the visit to Karachi, a meeting was held with Bilal Shahid Tata, CEO of Tata Best Foods, one of Pakistan’s leading companies in meat processing and agri-food logistics.
During the conversation, the parties discussed opportunities to implement joint projects to develop agro-industrial complexes in Navoi region, modernize the meat-processing industry, and build modern logistics infrastructure.
