Uzbekistan and Türkiye expand economic and trade cooperation
A delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye Mustafa Tuzcu paid a working visit to Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the working group held its regular meeting to implement the Preferential Trade Agreement between the two nations, co-chaired by the Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Akram Aliyev, and the Deputy Minister of Trade of Türkiye Mustafa Tuzcu.
During negotiations, the parties thoroughly debated the possibility of expanding the list of goods eligible for the preferential trade regime.
Following the third round of negotiations, an agreement was reached on the selected commodity items. Additionally, a final protocol was signed to formalize the results and to include extra items of mutual interest in the list.
Participants emphasized that these decisions will be a crucial move toward boosting bilateral trade, broadening export and import activities, and reaching the target of raising mutual trade turnover to $5 billion.
