Two Uzbekistan athletes to compete today at the Winter Olympic Games
Today, at the XXV Winter Olympic Games in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, two Uzbekistan athletes will take to the start.
In the giant slalom event at the alpine skiing, Uzbekistan will be represented by Medet Nazarov. In short-track speed skating, Daniil Eybog will compete in the 1,500-meter event, starting in the sixth quarterfinal. These races will begin on the night of February 15 local time. In addition, on February 16, the athlete will compete for a medal in the 500-meter event, once again representing the country.

In the overall medal standings, Norway leads the table with 8 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze medals. Italy ranks second with 6 gold, 3 silver, and 9 bronze medals, while the United States rounds out the top three with 4 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

They are followed by France (4-5-1), Germany (4-4-3), and Sweden (4-3-1), which occupy fourth through sixth place. Switzerland (4-1-2), Austria (3-6-3), Japan (3-3-8), and the Netherlands (3-3-1) rank seventh to tenth.
