The President visits the renovated State Museum of Timurids History
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the State Museum of Timurids History following its reconstruction on the occasion of the 690th anniversary of the birth of Sahibkiran Amir Temur.
Amir Temur, who united Mawarannahr into a single state, created a powerful empire with its capital in Samarkand. He established legal norms for state governance through his world-renowned “Code of Temur” and made an invaluable contribution to the development of science and culture, laying the foundation for the era of the Second Renaissance – the Timurid Renaissance.

The invaluable architectural monuments erected during his reign are a source of national pride and an immortal part of our people’s historical heritage.

The wise words of our ancestor – “Let justice be our companion and guide in all endeavors” – are vividly reflected in the reforms underway in New Uzbekistan today.
In order to widely celebrate the 690th anniversary of the birth of this great figure, the President signed a corresponding resolution on February 5.

According to the document, April has been declared the Month of Amir Temur, and meetings, roundtables, and discussions featuring Timurid scholars, writers, and cultural figures are planned at educational institutions, research centers, and mahallas.

As part of implementing the resolution, the State Museum of Timurids History has been reconstructed using best practices from leading museums worldwide and equipped with modern technology. Through digitalization, its capabilities have expanded, and the exhibition has been enriched with exhibits acquired from foreign collections.

In particular, a section titled “The Great Sahibkiran – Founder of the Second Renaissance” has been organized on the museum’s first floor. On the second floor, interactive exhibitions on the era of Amir Temur and the Timurids have been created using artificial intelligence and smart technologies. 3D exhibits and geographical maps are also on display.

While reviewing the updated exhibition of the State Museum of Timurids History and the conditions created for visitors, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of studying, promoting, and preserving the heritage of our ancestors.

“We have a history and heritage that the whole world can be proud of. It is gratifying that the museum, which preserves Sahibkiran’s history, has been updated and now reflects the spirit of the times. Our main task now is to convey this to our population, youth, and foreign guests. If you ask where to obtain the knowledge necessary for the elevation of the New Uzbekistan, all of it can be found in our heritage, in the knowledge left by our ancestors. Therefore, at the mahalla level, we need to involve young people, representatives of the older generation, and the population as a whole in visiting museums and expanding their knowledge of our great history”, the Head of State noted.

During the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a commemorative entry in the guest book at the State Museum of Timurids History.
