Prospects for international cooperation in the textile sector reviewed
A meeting titled “Paths to effective cooperation with brands” was held in Tashkent.
At the event, held within the framework of the “Better Work” program – a joint initiative of the International Labour Organization and the International Finance Corporation – issues were discussed, including expanding opportunities for national enterprises to enter international markets, establishing effective cooperation with global brands, and enhancing export potential in the textile sector.
Experts noted that strict compliance with labor standards and social norms in production processes is crucial when entering into contracts with global brands. In their view, these requirements are among the key factors in enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises, securing their position in foreign markets, and improving product quality.
Within the framework of the event, the Advisory Council’s third meeting was also held. It comprehensively reviewed the results of work carried out under the “Better Work” project, the current state of the industry, and reports on seminars and training sessions conducted. At the same time, prospects for future cooperation and priority areas were outlined.
According to the Uztuqimachiliksanoat Association, such meetings further strengthen international cooperation in the textile sector, increase the export potential of enterprises, and effectively implement the objectives set out in the “Better Work” program.
