Kemran Nurillaev wins the World Championships
The 2026 IBSA Judo World Championships have kicked off in Tbilisi, Georgia. Uzbekistan’s athletes secured one gold and two bronze medals on the first day.
Kemran Nurillaev won gold and became world champion in his weight category. Shohrukh Mamedov and Kumushkhon Khodjayeva earned bronze medals.
The Presidents of the International Paralympic Committee and the International Blind Sports Federation, the Vice President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, and several other officials attended the opening ceremony.
The event concluded with an award ceremony for the winners. Vice President of the Asian Paralympic Committee and Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Mukhtorkhon Toshkhujayev, presented the awards.
The 2026 IBSA Judo World Championships will run until September 27.
