Karate athletes win 128 medals

Athletes of Uzbekistan achieved success at the international Uzbekistan Open karate WKF tournament in Tashkent.

More than 450 athletes from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Tajikistan competed in the tournament, which had a $10,400 prize fund.

Members of the Uzbekistan national team won 34 gold, 40 silver, and 54 bronze medals, taking first place in the overall team standings.

For the national team's coaching staff, the “Uzbekistan Open” served as an opportunity to form the main squad and reserve players ahead of the Summer Asian Games, to be held this year in Japan.
