French company to build tourist areas

Hokim of Fergana region Khayrullo Bozorov met with Anton Chudaev, the Head of the Representative Office of POMA S.A.S. in Central Asia.

In line with the Presidential Decree “On measures to create the Fergana Tourist and Recreational Zone” dated January 12, 2026, objectives have been established to effectively utilize the region’s tourism potential, activate the possibilities of mountainous areas, and develop an international resort zone. To achieve these objectives, the regional hokimiyat is engaging foreign investors and experienced specialists. Chinese companies have already confirmed their involvement in the project, and now leading European companies are also showing interest.

During the meeting, promising tourism projects were discussed, and next steps for their implementation were identified. Special focus was given to constructing cable cars in Shakhimardan, Yordon village, and Dangara district. The project was finalized, incorporating suggestions made at the previous meeting.

The conversation highlighted the value of the French company’s extensive experience in developing modern tourist facilities. It was noted that practical efforts have already begun to transform tourist destinations into major tourist hubs.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the phased implementation of projects.
